This is Hi-Low. He was not being a good dog today. Here he's tempting his buddy, a bloodhound with a deer leg he's found. He's not listening to his owner and she's just recovered from the shock of him bring a deer's head to her.
This is one of my neighborhood squirrels. They humor me as they terrorize my dogs on the power lines. Those lines are like the main highway for these little rodents as they peruse the neighborhood for food.
A short ride into the country on my motorcycle brought me to a farm with work horses out grazing. Just awesome and gentle beasts. This one was coming to see what I was up to and probably hoping for a treat.
I see these birds swarming downtown Newark, Ohio all of the time and finally got a shot to find out exactly what they are.
They are a very common European Starling. They were brought to the United States in the 1890's by a wealthy industrialist who wanted to populate Central Park in New York with every type of bird mentioned in the works of Shakespeare. They proliferated and thrived ever since here.
I thought the mane on this horse was kind of interesting and I was trying to get a decent photo of it. The other horse wasn't about to not be included. No matter what I tried, he kept finding a way to get in the photo.
